The Spaniard will remain in charge of the La Liga club next season despite interest from West Ham and Napoli
Sevilla have been given a boost ahead of their return to the Champions League next season after it was confirmed that Unai Emery has agreed a one year contract extension at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan which will keep him at the club until 2017.
The 43-year-old, who secured back-to-back Europa League triumphs over the previous two seasons, had been identified as the leading candidate to assume the manager’s job at West Ham and Napoli in recent weeks. However, it is believed that the lure of Champions League football as well as wage in the region of €2.5m per season has persuaded him to remain in La Liga.
The former West Ham defender and recently departed Besiktas coach, Slaven Bilic, is now favourite to succeed Sam Allardyce at Upton Park.
