Danny Cipriani cried as he was arrested for alleged drink-driving
Danny Cirpriani is said to have wept as he was arrested, Westminster Crown Court heard today, after the Sale Sharks man was take in on charges of drink driving.
Sgt Peacock told Westminster Magistrates’ Court: “His eyes were glazed, he smelt of intoxicating liquor, appeared to be drunk to me, and was upset and tearful.”
Cipriani was found to be driving at more than twice the legal limit when he was pulled over by Sgt Peacock, who sent him to an area known as the “cage? at the station in order for nobody to recognise him.
“The concern is that if you have a well-known person and they are seen by other people, that information can potentially be leaked to the press,” he added.
Cipriani is certainly no stranger to drink, having been hit by a bus outside Leeds University four years ago while on a wild night out.
