The Chilean is set for spell out of action after injuring his knee against AC Milan
Inter Milan’s Gary Medel is facing up to two months on the sidelines after injuring his knee in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.
The Chilean was forced off during the first half of the 2-2 draw, with the club optimistic that the 29-year-old had suffered nothing more than a sprained knee.
However, it has since emerged that Medel has incurred damage to his lateral meniscus.
“Gary Medel had tests today that showed damage to his lateral meniscus,” Inter announced in a statement.
“His treatment options will be assessed in the next few days.”
Medel is unlikely to return to action until early next year.
