‘Ferrari in crisis’ say Italian press after Formula One’s Monaco Grand Prix

Ferrari are in crisis in Formula One according to the Italian Press

Following their inability to pick up a podium finish at the Monaco Grand Prix, Italian newspapers have cited a crisis at Ferrari for their lack of success this year.

In truth, the Scuderia have certainly taken something of a step backwards from their achievements in 2015 – with Red Bull now challenging for the title of ‘best of the rest’ behind Mercedes.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has been scathing in their criticism of the team, stating;

“Vettel took a responsibility that is not his. He fights with a car that has no leadership ability and a Maranello that is on the wrong track.

“Vettel appears a sad relative of the driver who took hold of the Scuderia last year,”

With La Stampa later adding that “In Monaco, Hamilton laughs again after a seven-month losing streak, while Maranello must deal with its crisis still.”

While the Italians are certainly a bunch who don’t pull any punches when it comes to critique, one can’t help but feel that in this instance they are being a tad overzealous.
